who we are

Springer Fastpitch - Coach Patti

Patti Davenport

Patti is the Head Coach for Coeur d’Alene Crush. As a coach she has won multiple local and regional championships and a national championship. In addition to a professional background in athletic training, education and youth development, Patti has years of experience leading camps and clinics, and coaching girls from 7-17 at all levels.

While playing for Whitworth University, Patti earned multiple all-conference and NFCA Academic All-American awards. She began coaching in college and has loved it ever since. Her passion is connecting with young ladies of all ages, encouraging them in who they are, helping them accomplish things they didn’t know were possible and sharing their joy along the way.

Patti sees softball is an incredible gift, but not the most important thing in life. When she’s not on the field, Patti loves to hang out with her family traveling, camping, hiking, playing games, exploring, serving, talking and laughing. It’s a blessing to grow together!

Brian & Kathy Stranger

Brian and Kathy have been coaching softball for over 30 years including youth, high school and highly competitive club ball.

They led a significant period of growth for KGSA, launched the Coeur d’Alene Crush organization which has now supported hundreds of young women, and hosted the annual Crush Tournament every year since 1997.

In 2025 Brian and Kathy were inducted in the Softball of Idaho Hall of Fame. Brian is the founder and developer of InMotion Playbooks, a tool to help teach defensive rotations for players at all levels.

Springer Fastpitch - Coach Mike

mike cavanagh

Mike is an assistant coach for Coeur d’Alene Crush and Post Falls High School. He played baseball at North Idaho College, so when his daughter, Bailey, started playing softball at 12, he was all in.

Mike has volunteered for years, graciously donating hours of coaching, field work and hitting lessons with current and former players. Just a phone call away, Mike is always willing to help.

He keeps up with current trends, knows everything about the collegiate landscape and is the girls’ biggest advocate.

Mike and Bailey are also part of the Crush Tournament team that has hosted one of the region’s best youth fastpitch tournaments for more than 29 years.

Springer Fastpitch - Coach Bailey

Bailey Cavanagh

Bailey is an NFCA First Team All-American Outfielder and East Region First Team All-Conference who helped lead North Idaho College to back-to-back national championships in the Northwest Athletic Conference.

In addition to outfield, Bailey played 1st Base and led her high school and college teams in batting average and home runs.

Bailey is an assistant coach for Coeur d’Alene Crush and Lake City High School. She is fun, a student of the game and loves to talk all things softball. She knows what it takes to be a great teammate and loves to share with young players.

Bailey and her dad, Mike, are part of the extended softball family in Coeur d’Alene and we are so thankful to have them and their expertise.
