SFA Summer Softball academies
Our Summer Academies are designed to help players grow their skills, build confidence, and develop a deeper understanding of the game in a positive, high-energy environment.
Each academy focuses on intentional skill development, game awareness, and character growth. Through structured drills, live scrimmages, and purposeful coaching, players learn the fundamentals the right way while gaining experience applying them in real game situations.
Players will develop:
Strong throwing and catching mechanics
Defensive footwork and positioning
Hitting consistency
Base running technique
Situational awareness and softball IQ
Confidence and leadership
We believe players succeed when they understand the “why” behind what they do. Our coaches focus on teaching the game in a way that builds strong habits, discipline, and confidence both on and off the field.
All academies include four high-energy training sessions with skill work and live scrimmages. No long-term club commitment is required, just a desire to learn and grow.

Our goal is at the end of every four-week session, players will leave feeling excited, more confident, and hungry to keep playing. Parents and players can expect:
Positive, encouraging coaching
We challenge players to improve while creating an environment where athletes feel supported and motivated to try new things.
Intentional skill development
Players learn strong fundamentals and the “why” behind what they are doing. Coaches will correct skills throughout every practice. Every drill has a purpose, and skills will build as players advance so we constantly come back to the foundation.
High-energy practices
Players stay active and engaged through drills, activities, stations, and game situation scrimmages. There is no standing around at SFA practices.
Focus on character and teamwork
We emphasize communication, leadership, work ethic, and being a great teammate. We encourage the girls to focus on what they can control. We can control the things we say and do which directly impact attitude and effort.
A safe place to grow
Players are encouraged to work hard, learn from mistakes, and build confidence both on and off the field. We believe we can learn from failure. We encourage girls to learn, adjust and try again.
We move quickly through drills, focus on high-quality repetitions, and make adjustments in real time. Throughout the clinic, we’ll also take time to discuss key rules, game strategy, and situational awareness so athletes can better understand how to apply their skills during competition.
The clinic will include:
Large-group dynamic warm-up
Small- and large-group drills
Instruction and practice of advanced skills and footwork
Group discussions about strategy and the mental game
Opportunities for individual reflection and goal setting
