SFA Community Softball Clinics

A proposal for minico Strikers

This proposal outlines two days of softball clinics designed to support the development of 10U, 12U & 14U players including:

  • 2 hitting clinics Friday

    • 4-5:30pm (Foundations 8-11 yrs old)

    • 6-7:30pm (Development 11-14 yrs old)

  • 3 community youth defensive clinics Saturday

    • 9-11:30am (Performance 13-15 years old): Built for players with competitive experience who are ready to learn and practice advanced skills.

    • 12-2:30pm (Development 11-13 years old): Designed for players with some experience.

    • 3:30-5:30pm (Foundations 8-11 years old): Perfect for new or newer players.

  • Intro to pitching clinic: Friday 2:30-3:30 - Bring your own catcher

  • Advanced small group pitching or hitting lessons (max of 3-4 players): Sunday 1-hour slots from 8-11am

Clinics will focus on fundamental skill development, situational awareness, mindset training, and leadership development, while providing practical instruction players can use immediately. The goal is to provide high-quality instruction, meaningful reps, and an engaging learning environment that helps athletes grow both on and off the field.

The schedules below are simply a draft. We can adjust according to your needs and/or facilities.

Two day high school clinic

  • Friday Session (3:00–5:00 PM | 2 hours)
    Focus on foundational skills and situational understanding.

    Saturday Session (9:00–11:30 AM | 2.5 hours)

    Structure:

    • 1 hour structured practice

    • 1.5 hour instructional scrimmage

    The scrimmage will include coaching stoppages to reinforce learning moments and situational decision-making.

  • Skills Covered:

    • Defensive fundamentals for all positions

    • Defensive rotations and situational awareness

    • Fundamentals of hitting

    • Baserunning mechanics and decision making

    • Game rules and situational strategy

    Integrated throughout both sessions:

    • Mindset and focus between pitches

    • Positioning and movement on every pitch

    • Physical and mental readiness throughout a game or doubleheader

    • Productively handling mistakes and failure

    • Being a great teammate and leader

    • Basic nutrition tips for performance

  • $50 per player for the two-day clinic

    $1,250 travel expenses: Includes car/gas to transport gear, plus hotel and food

    If we can get travel expenses covered, I can waive player fees for members of the Minico High School Softball team.

    We will provide a link for registration and discount codes for team members.

Youth clinic (ages 11-14)

  • Saturday | 12:30–3:00 PM (3 hours)
    Open to athletes across the community and surrounding areas.

    Maximum Capacity: 50 participants

  • Training will include fun, high-energy drills and competitive activities designed to build both skill and confidence.

    • Defensive fundamentals for all positions

    • Defensive situational awareness and game rotations

    • Live batting reps to build confidence and consistency

    • Offensive strategy and aggressive baserunning

    • Goal setting and mental toughness

    • Playing with energy and discipline

    • Personalized evaluation and instruction

    • Leadership development discussion

  • $30 per player

    Registration will be on the SFA website.

Pitching clinics

  • High School Pitching Clinic

    Friday | 5:30–6:30 PM

    Youth Pitching Clinic (Ages 11–14)

    Saturday | 3:30–4:30 PM

    SFA will manage registration.

  • $25 per pitcher

    Pitchers must provide their own catchers.
